Email Account & WP Blog
-
I am looking into deleting my gmail account and getting another gmail account so that I can change my gmail user id. (The existing username is associated with my WP blog.)
I put this to the email account question to the gmail support forum. One of the respondents said they tried to do the same thing and somehow compromised access to her blog (blogger.com).
I understand how this might be a problem because you are changing your user id. How can I best handle the email user id change without causing problems with my WP.com blog?
Thanks
Gary,

you should go to your profile (link in the top right of your dashboard), and change your email address to a new address (not the one you’re going to delete) first, and then delete your address.
however, gmail and blogger both use google authentication, so the problem they had is not one that you would have. the worst that could happen is that you wouldn’t recieve emails from your blog.

However, isn’t the profile page different than this one: Dashboard > Options > General Options.
In the profile page, it does not say that you will need to confirm the email ID but in the latter one Dashboard > Options > General Options it does say that you will need to confirm the email before it becomes active.
And yeah since Google has a global sign in for all its services, that could be the reason.
