Email address
-
The e-mail address and site from which I started my blog has closed down. It had been lodging on a friend’s site. I now have a new gmail address and of course it doesn’t recognise me and I can’t access my blog. Any ideas?

Hey normfanshawe,
You can only log in with an email address connected to your account using which you created your website.
If you want to use another email with the same account, you have to update it.

Hi there,
What is the site you are trying to access? If you don’t have access to the correct email address any more you’ll need to verify your ownership via our account recovery form before we can give you access to the site.
The OP clearly indicated they don’t have access to the account. To change the email they would need to be logged in.

I’ve checked your account recovery form but am stuck on those identification questions. In layman’s terms my blog was set up on a site seven years ago which was lodged on my son-in-law’s computer. He transferred all my e-mail to me and my computer, using gmail and my ‘tenancy’ with him is defunct. I find it impossible to access my blog with the new gmail address. I simply do not understand the language . What is meant by browser? I am on Internet Explorer? Is that what I should type in? Or is it simply, my blog name in search? Thank you for your patience.

When you have the site open in Internet Explorer, the URL is the link that appears in the address bar at the top. It’s impossible to visit any website without clicking on a link or typing the link into the address bar. That link is what we need, to know what site you’re referring to.
However, if you don’t have access to the email address connected to the site and you don’t have any of the other verification info we require, we won’t be able to give you access to the account that owns the site.

Thank you for your patience. The Internet Explorer link is https://www.google.co.uk/?gfe_rd=cr&dcr=0&ei=4zGxWuqkJ6aAgAa_t7fIAg&gws_rd=ssl

P.S.
https://www.google.co.uk/?gfe_rd=cr&dcr=0&ei=4zGxWuqkJ6aAgAa_t7fIAg&gws_rd=ssl
The address at the top of the blog is https://lleweton.wordpress.com/
I hope this helps. -
https://www.google.co.uk/?gfe_rd=cr&dcr=0&ei=4zGxWuqkJ6aAgAa_t7fIAg&gws_rd=ssl is the link for a Google search. https://lleweton.wordpress.com/ is your site’s address.
If you no longer have access to the email address for that site you will need to verify your ownership via the account recovery form, as I’ve said before. If you are unable to provide any of the verification details required on that form, we will not be able to give you access to the site.
We have strict processes in place to prevent unauthorised access to WordPress.com sites and accounts, and we cannot make any exceptions in this regard.

Fair enough. I’m glad that you have such tough security. I’ll have another go at the recovery form.

Just in case this might help with identity:
I have come across many messages from WordPress in my contacts. Here is one reference, in part: comment+458qrwbalr6hmz ….
Also several ‘do not reply messages’.
Once again, I appreciate your patience
