  Hello, I was attempting to change the email address of my existing account. I thought I could login with Google, but somehow ended up creating a new WordPress account which I do not want. However, it says if I delete this account I will not be able to use the email address and therefore will not be able to add it to my existing account, correct? Is there any way to fix this or do I just have to wait 30 days?

  What’s the site address that you want to keep?

  Yes, you need to create a dummy or throw away email address. Add the dummy email address to the account – replacing the one you want to use. Then, once you’ve confirmed that your email is freed up to be used on the correct account. You’ll change that email address on the correct account and confirm. Then your email will be set to the right account and you can delete the alternate account if you wish.

  Go to https://wordpress.com/me/account/ to make that email address change.
