Email address already in use? Not my info!

  I just attempted to sign up for a free WordPress blog, and it said that my email address (which I only have been using for under a year) was already in use. I’ve never signed up here with this address, so I went ahead and requested a replacement password and all that. They sent a new password along with my “username”, which as you can see is this ridiculously long string of letters and numbers. I went into the dashboard, profile, etc. and there is really no information there.

  Is there any reason my email address would be listed as already in use, even though I’ve never used this site before? And why my username is obviously something I have never set up?

  That’s what I figured I would do, as soon as Support is available (since it’s a weekend). The Support page recommended FAQ’s and the forum, so I figured I’d check here. Thanks!
