Email address already taken — not on my profile

    Hi,

    I have a long-standing account on wordpress.com which is linked to my self-hosted wordpress site. Now I’d like to make a new account on wordpress.com with a different email address. When I try to make the new account with the other email address, I get a message saying the address has already been taken. When I look in my existing wordpress.com account settings, there is no trace of the new email address; however, when I ask for a new password for my account (just to test where the notifications are going), the email does arrive at my new email address!

    I hope the above is clear, and that someone can make sense of it.
