Email address change not recognised

  I recently changed the email address associated with my wordpress account. My reason for doing this was to be able to open a new page with the old address (the first page I opened was actually for a friend so I changed the address to his.) However, wordpress continues to say that my original email address is in use so I cannot open a new page with it. Any ideas?

  Please post the actual usernames and the actual URLs involved here.
