Email address for my account

  I had two separate accounts. One that I initially set-up and actually have some activity/sites with ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) and another that I think was created when I was trying to Like or leave a comment on someone else’s wordpress page ((email visible only to moderators and staff)). I don’t really use hotmail anymore, so was trying to change the email address on that account profile to my gmail address, but even after permanently closing the wordpress gmail account, it’s still telling me that ‘it’s in use.’

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Email addresses on deleted accounts remain “locked” for a certain amount of time.

  Have you thought about using a gmail alias? Instead of using this:

  yourrealemail (at) gmail (dot) com

  Use this:

  yourrealemail+otheraccount (at) gmail (dot) com

  You can make that +1, +whatever, +doesnotmatter … whatever letters or numbers make the most sense to you. Gmail will ignore the plus sign and anything after it. But we won’t, so it’s in effect a second email account that delivers to the same address.

  No problem, if you do that, you’ll need to log into the other account and change that address to something else, and confirm that, so that your real email will be available.

  Just know that (email visible only to moderators and staff) works the same as (email visible only to moderators and staff) as far as they’re concerned. So you can use both to point two accounts here to the same email address.
