Email address is already in use

    Lost my email account, (email visible only to moderators and staff). Can’t change it to a different one I’ve had for a while–(email visible only to moderators and staff), because the log-in page says someone is already using the new address. I am. It’s my address.

    It seems you have more than one account here with us. If you want to use the same email address on both, try adding +something before the @gmail.com part. That can be +otheraccount, +1, +anything — it doesn’t really matter. Google will treat it as the same address, but we’ll see it as a different email address.

    Another option, if you prefer, is to log into the other account, change that email to something else, confirm it, then update this account.

    I just think the alias option is easiest. Hoping this helps!
