Email Address question.

  I used an email address to sign up a while back, but I have stopped using wordpress {since it will not allow me to delete my account?!} and changed the email address in my account so that it would no longer be associated with WordPress…

  However, anytime I try to comment on a blog just using my email address, it makes me sign into wordpress, as though the two are still connected.

  Please help. I don’t my address associated with wordpress! Thanks.

  You have two separate email address settings at WordPress.com.

  Blog notifications for the admin (like comment moderation, Likes, new subscriptions, etc) are sent to the email address at Settings -> General in the Dashboard.

  Personal notifications (like comments on your post, subscription emails, and upgrade renewals) are sent to the email address at Users -> Personal Settings in the Dashboard.

  Try changing it at http://wordpress.com/#!/settings/ first.

  If that doesn’t work, try Users -> Personal Settings in your blog’s Dashboard.

  Thank you for responding! This is why I am confused. I was able to log in using my main email address BUT in both of the areas you gave me to check, I have changed it to a different address.

  I also tried to link you suggested, and I have only signed up with WordPress ONE time, so it shouldn’t be linked to any other accounts.

  Hmmmm…

  When you comment on a WordPress.com blog logged in to a WordPress.com account, it will use the email address you have set at http://wordpress.com/#!/settings/

  If you are not commenting on a WordPress.com blog while logged in, your browser may be auto-filling the wrong email address for you.
