Hi there,
I do not see a pending email address change under your account. What is the email that you are trying to update to. By the way, the email you are trying to update to would receive the confirmation email, not your current one on file.
Also, if you have a gmail address, WordPress.com emails are known to end up in your social tab if you have that enabled. I would also check your spam folder to see if the email ended up there. Either way, if you search for your domain in the general inbox search field, you should be to find the email we sent to you regardless of the folder or tab that it is in.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,

Hi There,
I believe the glitch was as I saw on a few forums and was related to using the same email address for WordPress.org and WordPress.com and Gravatar. I was not able to get a confirmation email for my email address change request (I believe because I tried multiple times with different email addresses and it created a glitch). What finally worked was logging out of everything and using a different computer to log in and change the email address. This then allowed Gravatar to work and it allowed me to change my photo.
Thank you.

Here is one that got me thinking:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/unable-to-change-general-settings-email-address/and:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/cannot-change-my-email-address/and this is the one that clued me in to the thought that I needed to close everything and try from a new computer and use a new email address:
- Specifically this section:
Issues Changing your Email Address
If you attempt to change your email address and find that it never updates after saving the changes, the email address you are attempting to use is probably associated with another WordPress.com account. Because each address can only be associated with one WordPress.com account, it will not allow you to use the same email again.
To solve the issue, you can use a different email address that is not already in use, or you can log in to the account currently using your desired email address and change it to something else. Once changed, you can then reuse the email on a different account.
If you requested the change but did not receive the email confirmation to finalize it (or the confirmation did not work), please contact Support.

Hi Russel,
Which email exactly are you trying to change? It might help if I lay out the different accounts at play here:
First, you have your WordPress.com/Gravatar account. Our support page you linked to above refers to this account, and the only place to change the email for this account is at https://wordpress.com/me/account/
If this is the email you’re trying to change, please tell us the email you’re trying to use and we can check if it’s associated with a different account.
=====================
WordPress.org is a completely separate and different system from WordPress.com. Your username account on WordPress.org has nothing to do with your WordPress.com/Gravatar profile, and the only place to change that email is from your WordPress.org profile at https://wordpress.org/support/users/{USERNAME}/edit . You can use the same email address for your WordPress.com and WordPress.org accounts without any problem.
If this is the email you’re trying to change, please post in the WordPress.org forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ for help, as we don’t have any access there to help with this.
=====================
Then there’s a third account at play. That is the admin account for your stand-alone WordPress site, https://russellwilkie.com/. That account is unique only to that specific site, and has no connection whatsoever to either your WordPress.com or your WordPress.org profiles. The email for that account can only be changed from https://russellwilkie.com/wp-admin/profile.php
Is it perhaps this last one you’re trying to change?
The email confirming that address change is sent from your site’s servers, not from us, and not from WordPress.org, so if you’re not receiving it, the issue is with your server at your hosting provider, and you’ll need to contact them for help with figuring out why the emails aren’t sending.

Hi There,
This is resolved.
I’m sorry I have no way of recreating or remembering all that I went through with this is glitch. I have no understanding why my requests to change my domain admin email address didn’t work. I checked spam, and tried multiple other paths which I tried to document for you. Then 2 days later checked spam again and their was my approval email. Why there was 2-day delay I”ll never know, but I did get it working and was able to change my email address, set a Gravitar photo that is now showing up on my blog page.
Regards,
Russell
