Email address/fwding/with domain mapping from Easily.co.uk

  Hello,

  I made a blog on wordpress.com, I then ‘mapped’ it with a domain name I had bought with easily.co.uk – ‘www.austinsgardens.com’
  24 hours later the blog appears as ‘www.austinsgardens.com’
  BUT
  I also had an email address with easily.co.uk, ‘(email visible only to moderators and staff)’ which I accessed through their webmail page- if I visit this I no longer receive mail, but can send mail.
  I also selected the ‘add email’ option when mapping my domain. I then added ‘(email visible only to moderators and staff)’ and asked for these emails to forward to my personal email address ‘(email visible only to moderators and staff)’, because I wasn’t receiving emails through the easily.co.uk webmail page any more.

  I am confused who/where are these fwded emails being hosted? with WordPress? or gmail?

  Is there any way I can configure the settings so that I can send/receive emails to ‘(email visible only to moderators and staff)’ through the easily.co.uk webmail page as I did before I mapped austinsgardens.com to my blog? This would be preferable.

  Also, my blog/wordpress profile is administered to ‘(email visible only to moderators and staff)’ is that a problem if that email address is also hosted by wordpress?

  Hi,

  The e-mail forwarder that you setup on WordPress.com will automatically forward e-mails to your Gmail account; they are not hosted or saved on WordPress.com at all.

  To send/receive using your domain and Easily.co.uk’s webmail, we’ll need to add what’s known as the MX records for Easily in your domain’s DNS.

  Looking at their support documentation, I’m not clear on what the correct records would be for their system. Could you kindly contact their support and ask them what MX records are needed?

  You can add them yourself via the Store->Domains->Edit DNS link in your dashboard (direct link: https://austinsgardens.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains&action=dnsedit&domain=austinsgardens.com – do remove the WordPress MX record there) or let me know what they are and I’m happy to update them for you.

  As far as having the same e-mail address listed on your account as the one with your domain, I would suggest using something different, if for no other reason than if you forget to renew your domain mapping upgrade, your e-mail will stop working shortly thereafter. Any last chance “please renew!” e-mails from us or, if you lose your password, any password reset e-mails would be lost, if that makes sense.
