  I simply followed the link from WordPress https://talkingupscotlandtwo.com/ to report missing confirmatory mail. Assumed this would lead me back to the author. Grateful for any assistance

  Let me make sure I understood, are you trying to subscribe to the blog talkingupscotlandtwo.com and you’re not receiving the confirmation email?
  Have you checked your spam folder? What happens when you try to subscribe again? Are you seeing any error message?

  You are correct. I have also searched my spam folder and find no confirmation email.

  What about following the site using the button on the right bottom corner: https://d.pr/i/09QWar? You should see it after you close the cookie banner.

  Are you able to follow the site using that? Once done, you can go to your notification settings and make sure you’ll be sent an email every time there’s a new post on the site:

  https://wordpress.com/me/notifications
