  I’m trying to add myself to get email alerts from my wordpress site. I’ve added the email address but I am not receiving the alerts like the other user is.

  Please make sure radio buttons are ON under “Email me whenever” section on below page,
  https://wordpress.com/settings/discussion/
  Select as per you requirement.
