email alias/forwarding – max. number of addresses

  hi. we are looking for an authoring environment for our website, we are a non-profit. does WP have the ability to create an email alias/email forwarding address using the custom domain, to e.g., 5000 email addresses? I couldn’t seem to find a limit specified. sorry – no blog yet.

  If you purchase a custom domain form WordPress.com you can set up five email addresses at that domain and from my reading of the support doc each can only be forwarded to one outside email address. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-forwarding/

  If you’re referring to setting up a mailing list, that facility is not available at WP.com. You should be able to do that with a self-hosted WordPress.ORG setup via a plugin, however. See here for more information: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
