Email already in use — but not on either of my active blogs

  I am trying to set up a new WordPress blog. Since the two email addresses I use are each associated with an WordPress blog, I gave an address for my Time Warner Road Runner account which I haven’t used in years.

  I got an error message saying that address was already in use. I can’t recall ever using the address on WordPress, I’m baffled. Any ideas?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Can you tell me the email address? It will be redacted from public view in the forums but I’ll be able to see it. :)

  Thanks for following up! I see a WordPress.com account that’s already associated with that email address. If you still have access to that inbox, you can regain access to that account using our password recovery form:

  https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
