'Email already used' alert, even though I have not created the account
-
Hey,
I tried to create a new account, using my mail address. I couldn’t, however, because according to wordpress ‘my mail is already used’ – but I most definitely did not create a wordpress account with that email address. So I just selected “forgot password” because I assumed I would get a notification email if anything. I have waited a few days now, and I got no email.
I would like to find out if there is an account using my mail address? Or if it’s just a technical error?
Thanks for any help in advance :)

Hi @johannamuendlein, would you confirm what address you’re using so we can check our logs and what not? If you’ll type it here it will be hidden from public view so only staff can see it. And we can use that to look for more information.

Hey,
Thanks for your fast reply!
My mail is (email visible only to moderators and staff) -
Hm, it doesn’t look like this email address is in our user database. Can you tell us the exact steps you’re taking to create the account? Please also paste the address of the site where you’re typing in your data.

This is the link to the site: https://wordpress.com/start/user
I went on the site and just entered my email address. Then I got the notification that “This one is not available. If this is you log in now.”. I clicked on “login now” cause I thought if the email address is being used, I should get an email when I want to reset the password, which didn’t work though.
