Email and name in Comment section is pre-populated – how do i get rid of that?
-
I have a very simple blog and to test the comment section, I posted a bogus comment with a made up name and email. I’ve since deleted the comment and put it in the trash and emptied the trash. But whenever I open the website and attempt to post a new comment, the section is pre-populated with the original trashed email address and name already filled out. How do I make these fields blank so people can fill in their own emails and names (and get rid of my email)?

There is an Admin link on posts and pages that only you as Admin and any Editors you have created can see when you are logged in. It’s for your convenience and your visitors cannot see it. You cannot remove it as it’s coded into the theme templates and we cannot edit templates or themes.
If you log out, clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies and then visit your site without logging in that links will not appear to you.
Also note that there will be auto-filled information in a contact form or a comment box but your information is visible to you when you are logged in and have not cleared your browser cache and cookies. No one else can see it.
When someone makes a comment on your blog, unless they have cleared their cookies, WordPress.com will recognize them and complete the details for them. No one else will be able to view those details in comment boxes or in contact forms. The next person who comments will see blank fields. Commenters will not see each others details.
The only people who can edit your site are those you provide that ability to. See here https://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/ and here please https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-notifications/

My response above applies ONLY to blogs hosted by wordpress.COM and you did not provide a URL as required. Please post the URL of the exact site you are referring to now as depending on where your site is hosted the answers are not the same.

anelegantsalereview.com is not registered yet. Are you trying to register it and map to it from a .wordpress.com blog URL? If so then what is the .wordpress.com URL that you want to map to it from?

You’ve answered my question – I didn’t realize I needed to clear my cache which is what I just did. I do need to register my website and I’ll do that. Thanks so much.
