Email associated with old account deleted – access issue

Hi,
I decided to find my old blog that I’d written years ago but I’m unable to access it – I’ve been able to read it via a search engine. I stupidly deleted the email account associated with it a few years ago, therefore can’t request to make a new password as the email account no longer exists.
I have the username and my deleted email address, I just don’t know the password was, as any I had from that time aren’t working.
Is there any way to get access to my old blog account or is it a lost cause?
