  Hi there, I’d like to capture the email addresses when people sign up to ‘Follow my blog’. How can I do this please? Should I be using another widget instead?

  Hi Katharine!

  You can actually see all of the email addresses for email subscribers from your stats page here:

  https://wordpress.com/my-stats/?blog=2790030&blog_subscribers&unit=1

  However, that will show both WordPress.com and email-only subscribers. For WordPress.com subscribers, you will not receive their email address through the list above. You will only see the email address of non-WordPress.com users (or logged-out users) that manually enter their email address. WordPress.com users would be users that view your site when logged in and click the follow button shown here:

  It isn’t possible to disable the option to allow WordPress.com follows (to force people to enter their email address). If you would like to create an email-only subscriber list, I would recommend using a service like Mailchimp:

  Then, you can put a link to your newsletter on your site as described here:
