Email Change
-
Hello,
I’m trying to change my email but when first attempting this I didn’t receive the confirmation. I then canceled the request and tried again but am now receiving an error that it is in use. Is there a way to get this updated or speak to someone who can override this error? I just want everything attached to my business email so that its cohesive.

Hi there,
Is it possible that you used your other email on an account with us in the past? If so the address would appear to be “taken” as we do not allow one email address to be used in multiple accounts.
If you think that may be the case, you can try to recover your access to the account that currently uses that email address, by entering the email address here: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
This will send you a password (in your inbox) to log in to the other account. You can then set up that other account to use a different address, which will “free it up” to be used with your @wiscocreative account instead.
Hope this helps!

Hey Jerry,
I think one of the issues is that I somehow managed to sign in to wordpress.com using (email visible only to moderators and staff) as I attempted to accept the email notification change request.
Realizing my mistake, I deleted the account that is associated with my info@ email. Maybe the system is still seeing this as a “taken” email address because of this fact.
If there isn’t a way to clear this email I could set up an alias to forward a new prefix to my old address.

Hi Laurence,
If you had another account using that email, the email won’t be available to use for a new account yet, no. It will only become available once the closed account’s information is completely deleted after 30 days.
However, if you still have the email we sent you when you closed the account, reply to that and request that we delete the email address right away. Then you’ll be able to use it for this account.
We will need the request to come from that specific email address, so it’s not something I can do for you via this forum post.

Thanks for the help and suggestions to resolve this! I ended up using an alias email for the time being and will revive the info@ email later if necessary.
