Email change

    Hello I originally connected my google email address to WordPress, However I no longer want my personal email account connected. I have made a new email address as listed below which I would like associated to the account.

    original email address: (email visible only to moderators and staff)
    Preferred new address: (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    I do not want to lose the site I have been working on and the password I would like to stay the same.

    can you please help me.

    Hi William,

    To change the email address associated with your WordPress.com account go to your Account Settings (https://wordpress.com/me/account) and enter the new email in the Email Address field.

    Once you’ve entered the new email address click the Save Account Settings at the bottom of the page and you’ll receive an email at the new address with a confirmation link. You must click the confirmation link to confirm the change and update the email on your account.

    I do not want to lose the site I have been working on and the password I would like to stay the same.

    Those will remain unaffected.

    Hi and thank you for getting back to me.

    I have tried to do this and I did receive an email with a conformation link. However it did not seem to work and the old email address is still set to the account.

    I tried to do it again and now the email address will not set in account settings, I get the following message.

    “That e-mail address is already being used”

    The new email address just cannot be used. I thought ok I see if I can login with the new email address and I get a further message.

    “You’re not allowed to request a login link for this account.”

    I’m really confused. I will be upgrading the website soon.

    Hi, it looks like you’ve created a new account with the email address you wanted to use and then deleted it. That’s why you won’t be able to use this new address for the next 30 days.
    What you will want to do is to reply to the email we sent you after the account has been closed and ask for it to be restored.
    On that account, you will want to change the email address to a different one, a throwaway address, you only need it to unblock the email you want to use.
    After that has been done, you’ll be able to change the address on the account bluebellhillradioclub and you’ll be able to close the other account again.

    Hi and thank you for your help, I understand what you’ve said and I will follow these instructions. I have already replied to the email regarding the account closure assigned to the new email address I want to use.
