email did not go out re: new post to followers

    i added the “follow me” widget. i just published a new post at 2:30pm EST on 1/16/13. l signed up for my blog via a different email account but have not received an email about a new post. problem?

    also, if I date a post to be in the past, does that mean that an email will Not go out to my followers b/c it is not a “new” post? Just want to confirm that. Thanks for looking into my problems.
