Email Downtime for Transferring Domain

  We currently use Squarespace for domain hosting and GSuite for email. If we transfer our domain to WordPress, is there a way to avoid GSuite email downtime? If not, could we expect email to be down during the whole transfer process (5-7 days)?

  The DNS records should remain intact during the transfer, meaning the email should continue to operate.

  As a precaution, I do recommend checking your account’s email for when we report that the transfer is complete. If the DNS does not reflect G Suite for mail bits, and.or the domain’s email isn’t working, we have some steps to follow: https://wordpress.com/support/add-email/add-email-through-g-suite/

  As for timing, best scenario it works perfectly, no downtime. Worst scenario would be that it’s down only from the time the transfer completed and the time you setup G Suite for the mail again, it will not be down during the transfer process itself.
