A client let there email account lapse and now want to get into their WP site (after 2 years) and cannot remember the password. I no longer have it and have tried every possible way to get them entry again. What do I need to do? Your SUPPORT page doesn’t support this problem.

Blogs are the property of the user who registered them, unless they chose to transfer ownership to someone else. Staff need you to prove ownership of the account and the only things that they can accept for that would be either an email from the email address the account is registered to or confirmation of the account’s API key. http://en.support.wordpress.com/api-keys/

I guess the blog will just float around the internet – as is – indefinitely… since they don’t remember their email – kinda why it expired… API? (they don’t have the slightest) and my records with the client only go back a little over a year.
All we have is the username!
