Email Followers

Add topic to favorites
Hi, I am confused about the amount of followers I have. On my homepage, it has “Join 130 other followers” under my Follow button for emails. But I go to my Site Stats and it shows 1 follower.

Can anyone clarify this for me please?

Hi,

Your blog followers is the sum of the following:
- WordPress.com blog followers
- Any followers from connected Publicize services (Facebook, Twitter, Messenger Connect, Yahoo!, or LinkedIn), which you can check in Settings -> Sharing

No, it does not include Comment followers, just blog Followers and followers from Publicize-connected services.

Is it possible to turn off the Publicize followers from showing, but keep the email followers? It seems more accurate to just have email followers (i.e. I have 54 email followers, but 574 supposed facebook followers, when, from my understanding, that’s just counting the number of times people have clicked my links from Facebook, not people who actually “follow” in the true sense of the word). The only way I’ve figured it out is to turn off publicize completely so the number of “true followers” shows on the page.

Not at this time. Currently, the widget displays the total, but you can see individual numbers via http://wordpress.com/my-stats/
