Hi there. There is no way to block followers on a public blog, period. The only way to control who can read your blog and who can’t is to set it to private. That way only people you specifically invite will be able to view it and receive notifications. People will need to register a WordPress.com account before they can accept that invitation.

Hi! Thank you for your reply. I did set my website to private but in my stats page I still see the suspicious email follower following my website. Does he or she still have access/being able to view my website if he or she followed me before I set my website to private?

Also, can WordPress do anything about a blacklisted email follower known for spam in the internet community?

They cannot see your site, either by going to the website or by email, unless you Invite them.
If the spammer has a WP.com blog, it can be suspended if you go to the blog and report them for spam. Other than that, there’s not much you can do.

That’s a shame that WordPress does not allow blocking for safety reasons. Thank you again for the members who replied to my questions.
Sincerely,
Angela
