email followers

my blog is set to private, but my email followers are not receiving emails when I post. Please help

Hi there. Did you recently set your blog to private? If so, any people who were following you before you changed that setting won’t receive notifications anymore. You’ll need to add them as viewers under Users ->Invite New in the dashboard. You can view your existing viewers under Settings ->Reading. http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/#invite-people-to-view-your-private-blog
If that’s not the problem, do all your followers experience this or only some? Please ask your followers to check their email settings that they are in fact subscribed to receive email notifications, and also to check their spam folders as well as the Social tab of the Gmail inbox for those who use that service. http://en.support.wordpress.com/following/#change-your-email-settings

Thanks for that. Resent the invites but they only get a heading & title of my blog, then states ‘not found’ underneath & no posts.

Another possibility (shooting in the dark here), are your posts themselves set to public or private? If your individual posts are set to private, then your viewers won’t be able to see them. Posts must always be public so others can see them, no matter whether the blog itself is public or private.
