Email Followers

Not sure what the disconnect is, but the email follow widget is showing followers I don’t actually have. For the email follow, I only have about 3 followers. The wordpress.com follow is correct with nearly 1,000 followers, but I checked on the back end to see the claimed over 5,000 email followers, and it only shows 3 email subscriptions. How can I clear this out so it shows properly? Again, the WordPress.com follows (non-email) of nearly 1,000 is correct and does not need to be addressed.

The Follow Blog widget shows not only your WordPress.com followers, but also the follow counts of people following your connected Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr accounts.
In your case, you have 986 followers on WordPress.com and 4244 via Twitter. You should be able to see this breakdown for yourself at My Sites ->Stats ->Insights.

Oh wow. Interesting. I never saw that it connected my twitter account to the follower count on the email widget. Since the widget said it was for email sign up, I didn’t think it would include Twitter followers. Thanks! Now I know why that number is so high!
