Email followers

  My blog had 3,295 followers and then 2 minutes later my blog has 2,967. I don’t understand how my email followers can go up to (3,295) and then drop to (2,967) do you know why this has happened…

  Hi there,

  Are you speaking of the number of followers appearing in the widget on your site? That number is not just email followers, but all followers, including also people following you in the WordPress.com Reader via their WordPress.com accounts, and people following the site via connected Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts.

  Your site currently has only 6 email-only followers – you can view them at My Site ->People ->Email followers – and 294 WordPress.com followers.

  The bulk of your followers come from Twitter, at 2,583 followers, and I can also see 82 followers via your connected Facebook account.

  I see you disconnected a Facebook account back in May – the follower count for that disconnected account was likely stuck on our end, and only updated when something caused your site’s cache to be updated.
