Email followers
-
Recently my mother mentioned that she has not been getting my blog updates emailed to her as normal. I checked my followers and sure enough, her email was no longer listed. There were a few other people I know of off the top of my head who’s emails were also missing. I told my mom to sign up again, she did, and she received email updates for a few weeks then it happened again. Just wondering how to restore the people that seem to be missing?

Hey there,
The only way for people to be re-added as subscribers to a blog is for them to go to that blog and click on the “Follow” link. We cannot add them in any other way because if they had legitimately chosen to not receive notifications any longer, then we would effectively be spamming them, a practice which we do not engage in!

Ah, that definitely makes sense. Is there a way to know why these people got deleted though? I just know my mom didn’t want to and it makes me wonder if there are other people that didn’t want to be deleted but were unintentionally? I know it’s not the end of the world or anything, but it makes me sad thinking there might be people that still want to be getting updates and maybe think I just stopped posting because they don’t realize they got unsubscribed?!

Heya,
Once someone who has followed a blog, they don’t usually end up being removed unless they click on a link which removes themselves from the mailing list (which is a legal requirement). It may be that your mom clicked that unsubscribe link accidentally, which is what removed her from your followers list!
