Email followers not listed in site stats

  Hello,
  I’ve hit some sort of critical mass point in my blog where I’m getting 1-2 email subscriptions almost every day lately. I recently looked into my site stats just to get an idea of numbers and what people are looking at and many of my email followers are not showing up. I get the email notification in my email account saying I have a new follower, but then in my site stats, the followers’ emails don’t appear.
  I’m not sure if there is anything I can do about this?

  Hi –

  These are spam followers. It’s a known issue that we are working on. The “followers” are automatically deleted from our system so they don’t actually make it to your followers count.

  While annoying, there’s no security risk to your site from this.
