email forward not working

  I have a custom domain name and have mapped the email to forward but it is not working. I’ve tried forwarding to another custom address (managed by google) and to a standard gmail.com address and neither works.

  Hello there! It seems as if, while you have domain mapping here at WordPress.com, your domain is hosted elsewhere. Because of this, you cannot setup email forwarding. You’ll have to add an email address with your domain registrar. Once you do that, you can adjust your DNS records here at WordPress.com. Here are those instructions:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/add-email/add-other-email/

  I just set up email forwarding through my domain registrar ,so I don’t need it to flow through WordPress.

  I appreciate your help explaining it all. You’re much easier
  to work with than my brother in law. :P
