Email forwarding

Hi there, I’ve set up my WordPress account with a custom domain name. The provider of the domain was dealing with my email, and currently my WordPress account appears to have the right information for that. However, when I try to send myself test emails, they just disappear into the aether. I have tried removing the email details from my domain name service in the hope that WordPress would then pick up on it, but it’s been a couple of days now and nothing has changed on my WordPress DNS records. Do I need to change something manually, and if so, what?

I’ve emailed my domain service provider with the same question but not had a reply from them. I’m hoping you might be able to help me instead?

    Many thanks

    Hi there!

Since your name servers are pointing to WordPress.com, you’ll need to make any changes to your DNS settings through our system. Changes made in other systems will not affect your actual DNS settings.

You can find your active settings through Store > My Domains. Select Edit Domain and then Edit DNS.

    Currently your mail settings are:

    mx01.1and1.co.uk priority 10
    mx00.1and1.co.uk priority 10

It looks like you’re probably missing a CNAME record. Can you check with your mail host about what your complete DNS records should be for your email hosting service?

Once you have those, here’s a guide on updating your DNS records:

Let me know if you have further questions!
