Email forwarding confirmation

  I set up email forwarding for a colleague who does not have a WordPress account, and has no access privileges to my WordPress site. When they receive the email asking to confirm their email address for the forwarding and they click on the link in the email, they go to a web page that says they don’t have the necessary privileges. But why should they need site access privileges just to confirm their email address? How can I set up forwarding to them without giving them access privileges to the website?

  Hi there,

  You can ask your colleague to forward that confirmation email to you. Make sure you’re logged in to your WordPress.com account, and then click the confirmation link in the email. That will confirm that email forward without your colleague having to access the site.

  May I respectfully suggest that this instruction is added to the support notes about email forwarding.
