I am trying to set up email forwarding and confirmation email is not being received after many attempts. I don’t know how to proceed with this.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Can you make sure the email verification didn’t land in your “Social” tab in Gmail or in your spam folder?
-
Oh wow, I was not aware of my Social tab! So can I send email from this new email address?
-
That really depends on your email provider. Basically, with email forwarding, we’re setting up an “alias” of sorts. So, when email is sent to that new address, it will be automatically forwarded to an address you own.
If you would like to change the “from” address when you send email, you will need to configure the alias on the email provider side (i.e. with Gmail):

Unfortunately, Gmail no longer allows for aliases without a Google Apps account. That’s an entirely different process outlined here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/add-email/add-email-through-google-apps/
So, for right now, you can just receive email. However, you could set this up to send email as well. It would just be a different process. Does that make sense?
