Email Forwarding doesn't work!

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m using shopify as my third-party, so I changed my Nameservers to custom (not WordPress.com). But the Emails option in Domain Management said that I need to set my nameservers back to WordPress.com for these email forwards to work.

How can I stay with my custom nameservers but make the Email Forwarding works?

I tried Zoho mail and Google apps, but always failed to verify my domain, and I have a notification on top of the DNS Records to set back my Nameservers to WordPress.com for the DNS records to work.

I am confused, since Shopify is hosting my web, I can’t change the Nameservers, can I?

    Thanks so much in advance!

    Hi there,

WordPress.com’s Email Forwarding service only works when you have your domain’s name servers pointed to WordPress.com. When you point your name servers to a different host, like Shopify, all of your email service and other DNS records are managed by that new host.

You’ll need to contact Shopify for more help setting up email service now that you’re using your domain there. Shopify has a help page with more details about your options for email:

    https://docs.shopify.com/manual/settings/domains/email-forwarding

    I hope this helps!
