email forwarding not in effect

Hello,
Today I got the domain rachelelliott.me for rachelelliott.wordpress.com. Now I want to forward email with an address that is @rachelelliott.me. I went through the setup process but have not received the confirmation email I should get. How long does it take to start working? I’m in a bit of a crunch because I am also making bizcards and need to make sure the address works before I go to the printer ;-)

p.s. i just saw over in the support forum that there’s been issues/delays with domain changes, so maybe that’s part of it? anyways… still no confirmation email at the email address I set to have it forwarded to.

Hi there,
Sorry for the trouble. I see that you’ve set up your email forwarding to go to a Gmail address. Can you check to see if the confirmation email ended up in the Spam/Junk folder or on the Social or Promotions tabs in Gmail?
If you still don’t find that confirmation email there, please let me know!

Well, that’s odd. I just sent an email to the new email address you set up for email forwarding. Can you let me know if you get that email?

Thanks for confirming! That means everything is set up and working correctly for your email forwarding. I’m not sure why the confirmation email didn’t come through correctly, but you’re all set with that new email address you created. :)

It worked once right after I read your message. I tested it twice today (sending an email to the email at rachelelliott.me ) and I didn’t get my own test emails.
I have no clues why!

Did you email yourself from the same email address it forwards to, or from a different email address? (The email forwarding won’t forward emails to the same address you’re sending them from, so you’d need to use a different email address to test from.)

p.s. so far it works from a different email, but does not work from the email that i am having the emails forwarded to. is that normal? usually i can email myself from the gmail account, so i assumed i could test an email from there also.
