my email forwarding is not working after repointing my domain

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I had an old website at Network Solutions which included email. Yesterday I pointed that domain name, bridgetontwp.org to my WordPress site, bridgetontwp.wordpress.com. When I made the DNS changers I was prompted to include a change in the MX record so my mail would continue to flow. However, I am finding that I cannot send to the email accounts associated with my old domain. I can send from them successfully. When I try to send to my boridgetontwp.org address, I get the following error:
Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:

(email visible only to moderators and staff)
The recipient e-mail system can’t process this message now. Please try resending the message later.

    Diagnostic information for administrators:

    Generating server: atl4mhib01.myregisteredsite.com

(email visible only to moderators and staff)
    #< #5.3.5 SMTP; 553 5.3.5 system config error> #SMTP#

Can anyone assist me in fixing this?

Also, it has been 24 hours since I repointed my domain and I’m still not seeing the change in a browser. I’m used to this taking place within 2-4 hours. Can someone check on that as well?

  • Please make sure that you followed this guide to setup your email: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/add-email/add-network-solutions-email/

And, please do note that the domain will need to be set as primary via Store -> Domains in your blog’s Dashboard.

    macmanx,

Thanks for your reply. It turned out to be a configuration error in the CNAME records. I have to say, though, that the WordPress CNAME and DNS editor is very confusing and non-standard, which caused my problem. But, once I viewed the article, I was able to correct it. Thanks for your help!

  • You’re welcome, sorry for the confusion!
