email forwarding not working from one sender

I have (email visible only to moderators and staff) forwarded to (email visible only to moderators and staff). This has worked until recently. In my business I use a company that sends me emails about free screenings done through my website as well as other services my clients use through them. Recently their emails are not making it to me. They have checked on their end and sent the following:
    here are the symptons:
    yahoo–>WP–>hollysGmail works fine
    gmail–>WP–>hollysGmail works fine
    compton–>hollysGmail works fine
    compton—>WP—>hollysGmail not working

This connection had been working since June until a week or so ago. So I’m wondering if this is a wordpress problem or if you have suggestions. Mark, person from Compton, asked who I bought domain name from because he found this , but I purchased it from wordpress with premium upgrade. He was wondering about stopping using the WP-DNS and just set up one of our own, but I wanted to check here to see if there was a solution.

    Thanks for any help!
    Holly

    Hi Holly,

That is very strange! We don’t really do anything to messages with the email forwarding. We just send it immediately on to the address indicated. The only thing that I can think of is that for some reason the message may have been right on the border line of being spam as far as gmail is concerned and it being forwarded from another address tipped the scale.

There are a couple of things you can try here. First, you may want to try removing and re-adding the fowarder, just in case something has gone awry in our system. I’m pretty sure that’s not it, since it would almost certainly have affected the rest of your email as well, but you never know.

You can also try adding in a filter rule to your gmail which has messages from this company never getting sent to spam. If the messages are getting bounced away at the server level this may not prevent it, but it’s worth a try!

The last thing you can do is that you can sign up to have your beeasilyunderstood.com email properly hosted by gmail through Google Apps. That will reduce the WordPress.com forwarding step from the process and may be all the way around more easy for you.

    Hi,

So I did try removing and re-adding since that was simple and it seems to have worked! It had worked correctly for months, which is what was confusing. I didn’t quite understand how to do the filter since I thought that would filter things so they did NOT show up instead of making sure they did get forwarded.

Thanks for the help. If something changes I’ll be emailing again!
    Holly

I’m glad to hear it worked! Let me know if something else goes awry, and have a great rest of your week!
