Email forwarding – what happens when email address isn't created

I set up several email forwarding addresses for our choir’s blog, but info@ wasn’t one of them. I just created it now, but realized that some people had previously been given the info@ email address at our domain as a contact. Would email to a non-existing (at the time) email address at our domain automatically forward to one of the existing email addresses on the account? Or would it be logged somewhere I could find it? Or is it lost forever?
