Email Forwarding: WordPress side ok, but just can't receive mail?

I’ve gone through the email forwarding support page on your site but still can’t get it working. It’s confirmed on wordpress side but just doesn’t work when I try test sending to the email (email visible only to moderators and staff). Please advise. Thank you.

    Hi there,

Sorry you’re having trouble with this feature. Can you check to see if the test emails ended up in your Spam/Junk folder, or in one of the other Gmail tabs (Social or Promotions)? Sometimes when you’re testing emails like that, Gmail accidentally flags it as spam.

If you’ve checked and the email isn’t there, please let me know and I can investigate it further. :)

Hi Rachel, thanks for getting back. Nope they don’t end up in spam or junk. I get emails from the alternate accounts that my email failed to reach my domain based one.

    Hi Nikkiko,

Thanks for those additional details — that really helps. I checked your domain, and I see that it’s set up to connect to WordPress.com through CloudFlare. If your domain is using CloudFlare name servers instead of WordPress.com name servers, our email forwarding feature won’t work — you’ll get a failure message like that.

To use email forwarding, you’ll need to change your domain’s name servers to the following:

    • NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

We have a guide for how to change your name servers here: Change Name Servers

Once your domain is using the three WordPress.com name servers listed above, your email forwarding will work correctly again. Please let me know if I can provide any further help with that. :)
