email from host to everyone who is subscribed?

    Hi
I’m a host of the site, and have a question about email. If I post something important is there anyway that I can send an email out to the subscribers that something is posted on the site and have a look at it? If so please let me know. Do they have to subscribe to my site or i can just add their email to my site and they get emails automatically?

    Thanks

I have done this using feedburner. I don’t think it’s possible in WordPress.

You do have to sign up at Feedburner. Once you’ve signed up your blog there you have to activate the email part and then place a link on your website that they can click to get email updates (use the html one-lower on the page-and not the form script one-in a text widget)

ok i did that … i copied and pasted the link that feedburner gave me in text box…but it just says enter your email here: and there is no place to enter the email address how do I fix this?

Person has to click on that link and enter the email at the site they are taken to which is Feedburner’s site. Or at least that’s how it works on my site.

If that doesn’t work I am not sure of the problem. Better give a link to your site starting with http:// here and it can be checked out better if we can see what you are seeing.

You can’t use the javascript one. You have to use the HTML one, as indicated above. Works on my site as well.

For the email notification you have to use the link option
there is no Basic HTML option for the email notification
    through feed burner

ok guys ill just go with the link option rather than other option which they can directly enter their email address.
    thanks for your help
