Email from wordpress

Hi there I received two emails from wordpress saying to new users have registered on my web page. I wanted to find out if these emails actually came from you. I tried to log into my account but I got the message that my email is invalid. I had to create this new user profile to log in.
How can I find out if the emails come from wordpress? -

Hi there, I don’t see any WPcom website attached to this account so I believe you may be referring to a site using the open source WP software.
You should be able to disable new user registrations by going to your WP Admin Dashboard and disabling “anyone can register.” https://wordpress.org/support/article/settings-general-screen/
In general, for help with a site using the open source WordPress software, you’ll want to head over to https://wordpress.org/support where they have more experience with the software you are using. If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums you can register one on the top of that page.
