Email from WordPress

I am using WordPress.org for my website, but all the information I receive from WordPress is from WordPress.com. How do I change that?

Hi there,
Can you give some more details on exactly what information/emails you’re referring to?
I assume you’re speaking of https://knotbored.org/, correct?
First off, you’ll never receive any emails from WordPress.org about that site, as your site has no connection to WordPress.org at all. WordPress.org is just the website where the open source WordPress software, which you used to build that site, is made. But they have nothing to do with hosting or managing your site.
By default, any emails sent to you from that site will come from the email address, wordpress[at]knotbored.org. That address is automatically created by the
wp_mail()function in the WordPress software, and emails get sent directly from your hosting provider’s servers. But you also have that site connected to your WordPress.com account via the Jetpack plugin, and any emails that are sent via features that Jetpack controls, will come from a @wordpress.com address. This includes subscription emails for new posts if you use Jetpack subscriptions on your site, and also comment and like notifications, if you’re using those features included in Jetpack.
I hope this clarifies things, but let me know if you have any other questions.

Yes I’m talking about knotbored.org
WordPress.com sends me suggestions for a website and when I do research to work on my website with it being on WordPress.org, is it different than those that say wordpress.com? Would I have to do something different for the directions that say they are wordPress.com, but my site is on wordpress.org?
With What you are saying about the JetPack plugin do I have an email set up? I tried using ninja and it wouldn’t let me without a fee.

I don’t think we are still clear on what it is that you need help with specifically. Could you tell us more about what you are wanting to accomplish?
Are you ultimately trying to setup email for your website at knotbored.org? For example are you wanting an email address like “(email visible only to moderators and staff)” ?
Once we know what you are wanting to accomplish, that will help us direct you toward a solution.

Actually, it looks like you created a second thread looking for help on creating an email account here: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/email-plug-in/
Check out my latest reply there to see how to best move forward on this.

When I google anything on the internet it says it is for WordPress.com. My KnotBored is on WordPress.org. Where do I find the information for that? How do you search for help with WordPress.org. If I need to add something, where do I look, where are the directions for WordPress.org.
Everything is .COM, I need directions for ORG. Where do I look and how?

Hi there,
To clarify, the software you download from wordpress.org (or perhaps you host has installed it for you) is the open-source DIY version of the platform. It does not typically come with instructions on it’s use as it’s assumed that you have some experience with websites if you are using that version of the platform.
On WordPress.com we offer a more consumer-oriented system for setting up and managing websites, including support and documentation options that you do not usually find for the self-hosted (.org) version of the software. That is why you see wordpress.com support links come up so often in Google Searches, since there is not really a wordpress.org version of the same.
There is however basic WordPress guides they offer here: https://learn.wordpress.org/workshops/
You can also use the wordpress.org support forums to ask for help with your knotbored.org site: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
Hope this helps point you in the right direction!
