Email Help
-
I am having trouble with subscribers not receiving my emails. It is random, but frustrating as they are usually right on time. Also, I have found that even though the blog publishes at a scheduled time, the emails and FB and Tweets do not go out unless the computer is on and the site is up.
Can someone help?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there,
Have you read the relevant support docs? Scheduled posts do not publish until the first visitor to the site after the scheduled date and time clicks in and triggers publication of the post.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/schedule-a-post/#troubleshooting-scheduled-postsThen please read Common Reasons Why a Post Failed to Publicize

P.S. Also not that your subscribers each control the frequency of receipt of your posts. See https://wordpress.com/me/notifications

Thanks for the insight on the scheduled post/visitor issue. That explains it for me.
But I have been through everything I can find on why people subscribed to my site are not getting emails and do not know what to do. Because my site is basic and free, there are not many settings and every “how to” video suggests plugins which are not even on my menus.
-
I think we are talking about two different things. The people not getting the posts in their email just register an email address. It is those folks who wake up expecting to see a post and not finding it in their email.

Let’s start with the videos. They are all over the internet and apply only to WordPress.ORG installs. They do not apply to your hosted by WordPress.COM site. The only relevant support docs for your site are here http://support.wordpress.com
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
But I have been through everything I can find on why people subscribed to my site are not getting emails and do not know what to do.
I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Will you please provide a couple of usernames for those WordPress.com bloggers who did not receive the emails as well as a couple of email addresses for those who do not have WordPress.com accounts? The software will redact ie. HIDE the email addresses so only Staff can see them. After you do that subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Terrific. Thank you for your quick and clear assistance. I am providing the email addresses below.

hello. I don’t know where else to find information but I have an old email address as a log in to my account and I no longer have access to it. How am I supposed to change the email address to a new one if I can’t access the old one to confirm it? And you can’t notify me of follow up posts via email here because I can’t access it. I am at (email visible only to moderators and staff) Can someone please email that address and advise as to how I update my account to the right address?

Hi @slgravett44,
I checked each of the three emails you mentioned, and it looks like all three of those readers received an email update for your post on 5/24/15. We show that the emails successfully reached their destination. Can you let me know if the readers confirm that they received your latest update?
When you change the email address on your account, you only need to confirm the new email address, not the old one. So, if you change the email on your account to the new email address, you’ll receive an email at the new address asking you to confirm. More on this here:

Thanks for looking into it. Yes, the delivery has gone forward this week after the glitches. The question is, how can I prevent the glitches. I know, for instance, that several people have had difficulties with the email delivery on multiple occasions. Since I cannot see if they are all going out, I cannot determine if the issue is with the server for the recipients or if something is going wrong on my end.
If you have any advice about how to be certain that they go out, I would appreciate it. Given it is often not the same server, I have difficulty believing that it is not generating on my end of things.
Thanks, again.

There shouldn’t be any glitches or instances in delivery of email notifications. I checked the email addresses you provided, and I’m currently seeing an email sent for each post over the last seven days. If you have another example of a user that hasn’t received an email, I’m happy to investigate!
