Email idiots guide

OK, newbie/beginners question.
I’ve created the simplest free site but am unsure if there is an email account automatically set up with the site and if there is
a) how do I provide an email link on my site, and
b) how do I access the email messages?I’m sure there is a beginners guide out there somewhere which gives an overview of the WP setup in simplest terms for beginners but I’ve failed to find it, any useful links gratefully recieved,

There are two ways to setup an email address at WordPress.com. However, both would require a custom domain that you could register following the instructions here:
Here are the two options:
- Email forwarding, which forwards emails to a custom address to an address you already own. You can read more about that here:
- A custom email address, which would have a separate inbox but would be completed through a third-party as explained here:
