Email is Public
-
Whenever you add your email address in settings it says that it will not be made public, but it is. When you comment on someone’s post you are showing the email address when that person checks their comments on their account. I feel this is a security issue that really needs to be resolved.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This is not a security issue. It’s how it works with commenting. Your sign-up email address is never made public by WordPress.com. You choose to share it when leaving a comment on someone else’s site. This is clearly spelled out in the support document on email addresses:
-
Many places require an email address to be filled in, not just WordPress.COM.
The email field can be optional by the blog owner (I don’t require the email for instance & accept anonymous comments – most bloggers don’t allow anonymous comments & require the email) –
The logged in or email address is one way bloggers try and cut down on spam and riff-raff
You can also log-out when you leave a comment and put junk in the field – but that runs the risk of your comment being marked as spam or deleted
