Email isn't working since mail server change and now also can't view website

  • Unknown's avatar

We received a message from Blue Jet Hosting that they had updated their mail servers, and that the new IP address for the server is 208.115.108.71

Since my fix, we cannot view the prdstudios.com website, and email is still not working.

    1. I first did a screenshot of the settings. (see link to dropbox)
    2. Then changed the A record. (mail.prdstudios.com)
    3. Error: DNS configuration required (fix)
    4. Error: prdstudios name server records should be configured
    5. I clicked on the (fix) button, and took a screenshot of the message confirming it had been fixed.
    6. However, when I return to the Domain Management page, the same errors appear.

—-> Since attempting the fix, attempts to reach the site in a browser return a ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED-OUT message.

When I’ve gone back into the domain management tab to return to original settings, I cannot make changes to several of them. They are greyed out.

Since email isn’t working on the site, I’ve added two additional emails with admin privileges, since email’s not working.

How can I fix this? I’m not sure what error I made changing the email server IP address.

Thank you for any help you can offer!

  • HI there,

It looks like you added the OLD mail. IP address in a new A-record on the root domain, effectively pointing your domain away from us, and you didn’t change the mail. IP address at all, as it still shows the old IP of 216.155.154.212

I’ve removed the A record on the root domain, so the domain should start showing your site again soon, and I’ve updated the IP address for the mail subdomain. It will take a few hours to update, but then everything should work again.
