Email issues

I am having an issue with people signing up for my email newsletter. We have the option to receive emails from WordPress.com blogs turned off because we get 50 or so emails a day for commenting on wordpress.com blogs which overtake our email inboxes. But those who have this option turned off are unable to sign up for my blog’s newletter, we all have our own wordpress.org site, how can we make this work?? The newsletter is produced on MailChimp.
