Email issues: need to add the MX records at your hosting company.

Difficulties with email and was advised issue resides with the domain nameservers.
123-reg informed me that: Considering this fact the DNS records in your 123-reg account for this domain are ignored, including the MX records that consist the mail server who handles your emails.
123-reg advised me to ask for your assistance in adding the following: mx0.123-reg.co.uk with priority 10 and mx1.123-reg.co.uk with priority 20.

However it looks like 123-reg has not given you all the info needed to make the email work – I would expect to see something about mail or mail server not just a MX record and their domain name, I would also expect to see something about your custom domain name – is there more info they gave you? if so and you post it here someone can probably help you – else you will need to go back to 123-reg for some more info

That’s all I got from 123-reg. I will get back in touch with them for more info on the matter as suggested.

I looked at another site that is using 123-reg, and the format did not look the same as what I saw on the net and in the Post – see below for the other post in the forum –
but they are using the same info that you were given just a bit different format – so I am not sure what to think – MX records are touchy as to the format and different hosts have slightly different formats for the same info
I have also flagged this for the staff to help

This is from 123-reg and the format looks the same as what I put in to make my mail work (not 123-reg) – remember the ( . ) period or full stop character at the end of each line

I added the following not really knowing what I was doing and it appears to have worked!
MX 10 mx0.123-reg.co.uk.
MX 20 mx1.123-reg.co.uk.E-mails are finally working.
